The outstanding topics of this Newsletter are the following ones:

  • The European Commission public consultation on the operation of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs), where the Commission seeks input from stakeholders in four main areas: functioning and powers, governance, financial architecture and supervision.
  • The European Commission public consultation on FinTech addresses to gather information form the stakeholders with the purpose of assessing if the regulatory and supervisory frameworks match the principles of neutrality, proportionality and market integrity.
  • The European Commission public consultation on Capital Markets Union Action Plan Mid-term review 2017, where the Commission asks for input in order to assess the effect of the actions implemented so far, and aims to identify which other steps should be taken to complete its execution.
  • The European Commission report to the European Parliament and Council on national barriers to capital flows, which outlines a list of barriers “ex-ante”, “in-itinere”, and “ex-post” that currently exist in the process of cross-border investment, and proposes several actions which should be implemented in order to eliminate them.
  • An IOSCO report on the evolution of technology applied to financial services and its interaction with financial markets regulation.
